Known for her positive energy and easy smile, Pat Murphy has been involved in community service in Waltham for several years. Awhile back she was asked to assist a local nonprofit by gathering donations for their Christmas holiday party. The support from the community was tremendous and the donation drive was a success.
Pat realized she had a knack of connecting together people in need with those that had time, money, knowledge or items to donate. Over the years beneficiaries of Pat’s skills have included the Waltham Senior Center, Dancing with the Waltham Stars, Friends of the Waltham Seniors, Africano Waltham and the Waltham Community Day Center.
Utilizing Facebook, Pat has had donations dropped at her Waltham home or will drive around town to pick them up at people’s homes. Pat says “People want to donate, but they don’t know where or how to do so. I make it easy for them”.
